God in Ethiopia

Visiting the holy churches of Lalibela, all carved out of rock almost 1000 years ago. The best part though, were the children that followed us around gifting us with small wooden crosses, and yelling, "Hey America! Do not forget about us!" How could I? This village was magic!

We just so happened to be visiting the churches on the day of the year that the people celebrate finding the cross of Jesus Christ. We were able to witness the enchanting ceremonies that have been in practice since at least when these churches were first carved.

The famous church of St. George.

Peace out Ethiopia, it's been surreal, and I couldn't be more thankful to be apart of the ALEX AND ANI team, or more grateful to be in support of Plan International and the Because I am a Girl campaign. This whole experience has been out of this world, and the people I was lucky enough to travel with made all the coffee ceremonies and honey wine that much more extraordinary.

Until we meet again Africa.
